A confirmation week. Last week's halftime rumor became this week's headline, the Queen of Hip-Hop Soul made her catalog move, and Friday closed with a Texas rapper coming home to rap. Ten lines, no filler — this was the week.

The Big Five

Jay-Z — the NFL, Apple Music and Roc Nation confirmed on October 26 that he will headline the Super Bowl LXI halftime show on February 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium, his first Super Bowl performance, produced by his own company.

BigXthaPlug — Better Over Time arrived October 30 through UnitedMasters: 18 tracks, no country detour this time, with GloRilla, Lil Yachty, Leon Thomas and Ava Max in the guest lane.

Chris Brown — sentenced October 26 at Southwark Crown Court to eight months, suspended for 12 months, after pleading guilty to affray over the 2023 Tape nightclub attack on producer Abraham Diaw.

Mary J. Blige — partnered with Primary Wave on October 26 on her full catalog of compositions and recordings, 15 studio albums deep per Billboard; terms were not disclosed, and it is a partnership, not a reported sale.

Young Nudy — Just Doin Me landed midweek on October 28 via RCA: 16 tracks, with 21 Savage on "Spinnin" and JID on "Judy."

The Next Five

Meek Mill — announced Dream Chasers Nights on October 27, a six-city Live Nation Urban run that opens November 24 in Philadelphia and closes December 20 in Atlanta.

Sampa the Great — Nu Zamrock, her third album, arrived October 30 via Loma Vista: 16 tracks built on the Zamrock lineage of her uncle, WITCH founding member George "Groovy Joe" Kunda.

Offset — GMFU reportedly moved from October 23 to November 13, a three-week push reported on October 25; no tracklist has been confirmed.

Durand Bernarr — named the Soul Personified honoree on October 27 for the Soul Train Awards, airing November 27 on BET and CBS; he will also perform and host the digital red carpet show.

LL Cool J — announced Rock The Bells: The Residency on October 29, an 11-show run at Dolby Live at Park MGM in Las Vegas starting May 15, 2027.
