R&B singer Ray J was rushed to the hospital Thursday afternoon after suffering a medical emergency in the middle of a livestream, with sources describing the incident as heart-related. According to TMZ, someone called the fire department and an ambulance after Ray J started having health issues. Livestream footage showed the 45-year-old lying shirtless as paramedics tended to him with medical equipment attached to his chest. Sources told the outlet the call was strictly medical and that nothing suspicious surrounded the incident.
A Difficult Year for Ray J's Health
Thursday's emergency is the latest in a string of health scares for the singer this year. In January, he was hospitalized in Las Vegas with pneumonia and heart pain, with doctors running chest X-rays and an echocardiogram. He later told fans on Instagram that his heart was "only beating like 25 percent," and on a separate stream said he feared he would not live past 2027, per EntertainmentNow. In February, he asked fans to return a heart monitor he said had been taken during a show in Shreveport, Louisiana, after he had worn it for two weeks. In May, he checked into a Las Vegas hospital after being knocked out during a celebrity MMA fight with Supa Hot Fire, with doctors monitoring him for a slowed heartbeat and a possible concussion.
