Bruno Mars now owns one of the longest runs in Billboard history all by himself. His single "I Just Might" has returned to No. 1 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart dated October 24, logging its 32nd week at the top and becoming the longest-running No. 1 in the chart's history, which dates back to October 1958.
A Record 68 Years in the Making
The 32nd week moves Mars past Kendrick Lamar and SZA's "Luther," which spent 31 weeks at No. 1 across 2024 and 2025. For the tracking week of October 9 to 15, "I Just Might" earned 5.3 million official streams, reached an airplay audience of 51.9 million and sold 1,000 copies in the United States, according to Luminate data reported by Parade. Billboard's chart listings for the week dated October 24 independently place the song back at No. 1.

The Run Behind the Record
Mars released "I Just Might" on January 9 as the lead single from his fourth solo studio album, The Romantic, which followed on February 27. The song debuted at No. 1 on the chart dated January 24 — his fifth song to top the ranking — and its reign has been interrupted by only two songs, both featuring Drake: "Janice STFU," which held the top spot for seven weeks between May and June, and "Solar Eclipse," his collaboration with Don Toliver, which briefly claimed No. 1 in October.
Behind "Luther" on the all-time list sit Lamar's "Not Like Us" at 22 weeks, SZA's "Kill Bill" at 21 weeks and Lil Nas X's "Old Town Road" featuring Billy Ray Cyrus at 20 weeks. "I Just Might" also became Mars' 10th No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and topped the Pop Airplay and Rhythmic Airplay charts.
