The Transfer
Sean "Diddy" Combs was transferred on Friday, October 16, from the Federal Correctional Institution at Fort Dix in New Jersey to FCI Allenwood Low in Pennsylvania, a Bureau of Prisons spokesperson confirmed to USA TODAY. Entertainment Weekly and Page Six received the same confirmation from the bureau.
Both prisons are low-security facilities. The bureau declined to give a reason for the move, citing privacy, safety and security. According to USA TODAY, Allenwood Low holds around 1,000 inmates, compared with approximately 4,000 at Fort Dix, and uses dormitory-style housing with cubicles.

What His Team Said, and What Remains Unclear
Combs representative Juda Engelmayer said in a statement reported by USA TODAY and Entertainment Weekly that the team appreciates the bureau taking safety and security seriously, described the move as consistent with a decision made with safety in mind, and said they hope Combs can continue serving his time without unnecessary disruption.
The transfer follows days of disputed reports about Combs at Fort Dix. USA TODAY reported that on October 15 the bureau told the outlet a reported story about a fight and a hospital trip was false and did not happen. Engelmayer also told USA TODAY the team had no verified information that Combs was attacked or injured. The bureau has not said the transfer is connected to those reports, and no official reason has been given.
Where His Sentence Stands
Combs, 56, is serving a 50-month federal sentence after his July 2025 conviction on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. He was acquitted of racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking charges. His current Bureau of Prisons release date is March 2, 2028, according to USA TODAY and Entertainment Weekly.
