Another Date Change
Sean "Diddy" Combs will spend a little longer behind bars. Federal Bureau of Prisons records reviewed by USA Today show the Bad Boy mogul's release from FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey has been pushed back to March 2, 2028 — days after that same record listed his release for Jan. 21, 2028.
The move extends a release date that has already shifted multiple times since his incarceration — AllHipHop counted this as his ninth release-date change. Combs, 56, is serving a 50-month federal sentence after a jury convicted him in July 2025 of two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. His projected release was first set for May 8, 2028, pushed to June 2028 in November, then moved up to Jan. 21, 2028 last week — before this latest pushback. The Bureau of Prisons said it does not comment on the conditions of confinement for any incarcerated individual, including reasons for a change in release date, though general reasons can include conduct, time credits, and credit for time served.

Why It Moved
The date change lands days after NBC News reported on Combs' life behind bars, alleging fellow inmates cook and clean for him, give him massages, and that he has access to outside alcohol and a contraband cellphone. TMZ reported he was returned to solitary confinement at FCI Fort Dix after a cell phone and Hennessy were found, and sources said he paid inmates for massages and meals.
Combs' camp pushed back. His rep told USA Today: "The continued scrutiny of every mundane detail of Sean Combs's life in prison has reached the point where the media characterizes ordinary prison life as news." Separately, a New York judge ordered Combs to pay NBCUniversal $477,700.50 in attorneys' fees after his $100 million defamation suit over the Peacock documentary Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy was dismissed — considerably less than the $990,292 the defendants had requested. His legal team is still appealing the conviction, and Combs is facing more than 70 civil lawsuits.
