Update: Lucki Out of the Hospital, Back to Jokes
Lucki is out of the hospital. On Monday afternoon, October 5, the rapper posted to Instagram showing bandages where he received stitches on his neck, per TMZ — two days after he was struck in the side of the face during the Saturday brawl outside ComplexCon's 10th anniversary weekend at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
In the video, Lucki joked that he had around $100,000 in cash and his debit cards inside a car that police still have, asking LAPD to return the vehicle, and admitted he didn't know what happnned during the chaos: ‘I got no clue what happened... there was a lot of going,’ per Stereogum's recap of the post. The LAPD investigation continues as an attempted murder case; no arrests have been reported.d
Update: ComplexCon Issues Statement on the Fight
On Sunday, ComplexCon issued its first public statement on the incident, reported by HotNewHipHop. "The safety and security of our guests, talent, partners and staff is our highest priority," the company said, confirming it was aware of an incident that occurred outside the ComplexCon event and that its security team and the LAPD responded immediately.
Speaking to PEOPLE, organizers added that the incident happened "on the public street outside the event." Complex did not name Lucki in the statement and did not address online claims tying the fight to Playboi Carti's camp, which remain unconfirmed.
UPDATE: LAPD INVESTIGATING AS ATTEMPTED MURDER, FOUR INJURED
Law enforcement sources confirmed to TMZ on Sunday morning that Lucki was struck in the side of the face around 4:40 PM Saturday while surrounded by fans in the ComplexCon parking lot, suffering a laceration to his face and neck. Another victim was observed getting stabbed, and the LAPD later located two more injured victims — four in total, three in stable condition and one who transported himself to a hospital.
The LAPD is investigating the incident as attempted murder, though authorities say they are still working to establish exactly what happened. No arrests have been made and the number of suspects is unknown. Lucki told a concerned fan via Instagram DM that he is "good" and reposted an Instagram Story around 4 AM Sunday. There is still no confirmation that Playboi Carti personally participated in the attack or directed anyone to attack Lucki, and neither ComplexCon, Carti, nor his team has issued a statement.
Chicago rapper Lucki was seen bloodied Saturday night at ComplexCon in Los Angeles after an altercation involving his entourage and people associated with Playboi Carti. Videos circulating on social media show the rapper with blood around his face and neck as associates helped him into a car. AllHipHop reported that its own correspondent witnessed the alleged attack.
The incident took place on the opening day of ComplexCon's 10th anniversary event at the Los Angeles Convention Center, where Carti serves as artistic director alongside Japanese designer Hiroshi Fujiwara. Carti is scheduled to headline Sunday's concert at Crypto.com Arena.

What We Know — and What We Don't
Several outlets, including Hip-Hop Wired, described Lucki's injury as an alleged stabbing or slash, and social media accounts have used the slang "buck 50" to describe a facial cut. That claim is UNCONFIRMED — police, ComplexCon organizers, and medical officials had issued no statements as of Sunday morning, and no official update on Lucki's condition has been released.
There is no established evidence that Carti personally struck Lucki or ordered anyone to attack him. Footage places him in the vicinity while the groups clashed. As of Sunday morning, neither Lucki, Carti, their representatives, nor ComplexCon had issued a formal statement.
The 2024 Background
The altercation has revived attention on a short-lived dispute from September 2024. After Carti released "ALL RED," which includes a lyric about an upside-down cross tattoo, Lucki posted about buying a chain and said "crosses up." Carti read the post as a shot at him; Lucki said it was only about the chain and that he did not dislike Carti. The exchange appeared to cool after conciliatory posts, and no confirmed link has been drawn between that episode and Saturday's fight.
