Tems Leads the Soul Train Awards' First-Ever Fan Vote
BET is putting two 2026 Soul Train Awards categories in the fans' hands for the first time — R&B/Soul Song of the Year and the brand-new Spotify RNB X International Artist — and Nigerian star Tems is the only artist nominated in both. She's up for Song of the Year with "What You Need," taken from her Love Is a Kingdom album (released November 21, 2025), and she's one of seven nominees for the RNB X International Artist award honoring performers extending R&B beyond its borders.
"What You Need" faces nine competitors: Brent Faiyaz's "Butterflies," Bruno Mars' "I Just Might," Chris Brown and Bryson Tiller's "It Depends," Daniel Caesar's "Who Knows," Justin Bieber's "Yukon," Kehlani's "Folded," Mariah the Scientist and Kali Uchis' "Is It a Crime," Olivia Dean's "Man I Need," and Tyla's "Chanel." In the international category, Tems competes with Cleo Sol, FLO, kwn, Odeal, PARTYNEXTDOOR, and Tiana Major9. Voting — on BET.com for the song category, exclusively in the Spotify app for the international artist — runs through October 16. The ceremony airs Friday, November 27 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on BET with simulcasts on CBS, BET Her, VH1, MTV2, and LOGO, hosted by Anthony Anderson from Chicago. More categories and nominees roll out in the coming weeks.

Mac Miller Estate Opens the Vault for The Divine Feminine's 10th Anniversary

The Mac Miller Estate marked the 10th anniversary of The Divine Feminine with a three-song expansion of the 2016 album, released October 2 via Warner Records. "Grand," "Channel 13," and "Butterflies" — all pulled from the original recording sessions — close out the anniversary edition, with "Butterflies" (featuring Thundercat on bass) having already been unveiled in August. The album was Miller's audacious pivot from rap to a full singing-forward concept record about love, and it still holds up; Pitchfork called it "easily his most intoxicating release yet" on release.
The original debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 in September 2016 with 48,000 album-equivalent units, carried by collaborations with Ariana Grande ("My Favorite Part"), Kendrick Lamar, Anderson .Paak ("Dang!"), Ty Dolla $ign ("Cinderella"), and CeeLo Green. "Cinderella" caught a second wind this summer after a TikTok trend pushed it to No. 25 on the Billboard Hot 100 — Miller's second-highest charting single as a lead artist — and into the top 10 of the Rhythmic Airplay chart. The estate also premiered The Divine Feminine Live, a special based on the original 2016 TV series that was exclusive to DirecTV, on Miller's YouTube channel October 2 at 10 p.m. ET. The estate gave GO:OD AM the same anniversary treatment last October.

Toosii Sets October 23 for Platinum Heart 2, Five-City Tour After

Toosii is running it back to where the melodic run started. His new single "Nights Prayed" previews the 13-track Platinum Heart 2, arriving October 23 through South Coast Music Group and Capitol Records — a sequel to his 2020 Platinum Heart mixtape that he billed himself as "6 years in the making." The album features "Please Don't Go" with NBA YoungBoy and a collaboration with Hunxho, and it keeps the vulnerable melodic edge that turned "Favorite Song" (from 2023's NAUJOUR, nearing 300 million Spotify streams) into his signature record.

He takes it on the road with the Platinum Nights Tour, a five-show run: November 17 at Houston's House of Blues, November 18 at New Orleans' House of Blues, November 22 at Philadelphia's Theatre of the Living Arts, November 23 at Washington, D.C.'s Howard Theatre, and November 24 at Detroit's Saint Andrew's Hall. It continues a busy live stretch that has already included sold-out headline dates and arena appearances alongside NBA YoungBoy and Rod Wave.
